Amy Smart is an American former model and actress. Born in California USA, Amy Smart began her modeling career there. Her acting debut came at the age of 16 in the TV movie Her Costly Affair. From there to starring in a minor role in the film Starship Troopers she struggled very for a long time. This was not easy for Amy since she needed transition from modelling to performing. Models aren't regarded as the best actors, so they usually get smaller, insignificant roles. Amy persevered. She made her way into bigger roles, beginning with The 70s series and Varsity Blues film. In the course of a couple of years, Amy took the leap into bigger roles. She starred in the romance film Just Friends alongside Ryan Reynolds. Amy gained recognition after more than ten years struggling. Amy was later a star in major movies such as the Crank Series with Jason Statham, and Shameless.
